My Story

2023. Still living in Australia in the Tropics. As an author and coach, I help people to live a better life. My new book Mach’s mal anders! will be published soon. Besides my cooperation with the German SPIEGEL intensifies. The journey continues …

2016. One of my big dreams in life: Australia. If not now, then when. I did it! to live and work in the Tropics Townsville later Cairns. Admission into the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). More and more Online-Coaching for clients in Germany and worldwide – and of course writing. My 25. books would be published soon.

2015. Re-brand my company jobID into WILLMANN THE COACH. after 12 successful years. My passion for coaching and writing remained. Moreover, as I was to discover later, I would soon hit the road again.

2009. Realised my passion: My first book was published. Das Jobwechsler Buch. What a joy! It would be 29 more books to come during the next ten years most of them published in Germany, translations of several published in the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Taiwan and China, but I didn’t know yet.

2003. Accomplished my big career goal: Self-employment. Established my own company for coaching and consulting jobID, after having achieved my advanced training as a Certified Coach BDP. My journey into self-employment began. As a Psychologist with freelance contracts conducting outplacement projects on a large scale for big players like Siemens, debitel and others. Besides, constantly increased coaching in my own practice and dared to dream of writing books.

1998. Degree as D Psych, equiv. to M.Sc. Psychology with honours at the University of Freiburg. Travelled a lot across Southeast Asia and the USA whilst studying. Master Thesis for German Developmental Service (DED) in Berlin about the procedure of personnel recruitment of Developmental Workers. Discarded a career as professional traveller. Instead I worked three years as a recruiter with the DED, followed by three years as a Diagnostician at a Vocational Promotion Center in Bavaria, Germany.

1991. The decision was made. I wanted to study more and went back to school to finish my A Level University Entry Degree. Subsequently I did community service for Friends of the Earth Germany. Next I travelled Australia on motorbike for half a year where I decided to study Psychology once back home.

1988. Successfully accomplished my apprenticeship at the Global Pharma Player Gödecke (today Pfizer). Still yearning for travelling hence went to Africa to the desert Sahara to make up my mind what to do with the rest of my life.

1968. Born and bred in Freiburg. Starting travelling as a teenager: to Paris on foot, cycling over the Alps, via train to Sicily. Finally 18. By car and motorbike across Europe. Then decided to do a down-to-earth apprenticeship as a trader.
